Read Caper's rescue story here.

Hi, my name is Caper. I am a very special dog, let me tell you my story.  I'll start with the World Cup. Before I was rescued I would hang around downtown Sochi. That's where all the tourists who came to see the World Cup games went. Most of them were very nice and would give me food, but one tourist changed my life completely. His name is Darren and he lives in Australia.

One night I was very hungry and I was hiding in the woods behind a restaurant trying to see if it was safe to come out and ask for food. Darren was having dinner with his friends and then when he saw me he came running after me. First I ran away, as a street dog you learn that it's never good if someone starts chasing you, but then Darren seemed nice and he had food. I was so hungry I thought I would give him a chance. The next thing I know, he picks me up and all of the sudden I feel safe!

By the time Darren carried me back to the restaurant, it had gotten very later and I don't think he knew what to do with me, but then he called someone and next thing I know a lady named Vlada pulls up and we get in the car and drive to a house. There we meet another lady, Lena, she came out in her PJs and gave me a bath, more food, and big soft bed. That night I thought I was the luckiest dog in the world!

After being with Lena for a few days, I moved to the shelter.  I have friends here and get fed twice a day. I love this place, but I really want to have a family, my family. And I know if someone takes me home, another who is outside begging for food will get my place at the shelter.

I love people, dogs, kids and I promise I will be a loyal companion for life. Another cool thing about me is that I only have 3 legs!  No one can understand what happened with my fourth one and I don't remember either.  But I can run and jump and play just like all the other dogs, so I don't miss it.  Please fill out an adoption application for me!
