Delivered! 1,102 Pounds of Food for the Dnipro Shelter 🇺🇦

We’re excited to share that 1,102 pounds of dry food have been delivered to the Dnipro shelter in Ukraine! This much-needed shipment will help feed the many dogs currently in their care who have already been through so much.

Before it gets handed out, though, the food must pass inspection... by the shelter’s very enthusiastic K-9 quality control team. We’re pretty sure it’ll get a paws-up.

This delivery wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our community. Your donations allow us to continue providing food and covering medical expenses for animals affected by the war in Ukraine. Thank you for standing with them during such a difficult time.

From Evacuation to Care: July Spay/Neuter Updates

It may be summer, but our sterilization mission in Ukraine doesn't take a break.

In July, most of the dogs spayed and neutered were from several recent evacuation trips. We firmly believe this is the only real way to control the stray population and prevent the suffering of dogs living on the streets.

If you’d like to help us continue this vital work, please consider contributing. Every donation makes a real difference.   https://www.sochidogs.org/helpukraine

Meet Tubik!

Tubik is one of the new residents at the Dnipro Shelter, rescued from the recent evacuation effort. If Tubik looks happy in his photos, that's because his rescue is almost a miracle -- soldiers found him at the Druzhkivka-Kramatorsk checkpoint. There isn't a single village or house within a 10-kilometer radius of the checkpoint, meaning he had to run across a minefield to get there.

It's clear that Tubik was someone's pet. We don't know what happened to his family, but we'll be supporting the Dnipro shelter to make sure that Tubik and all the other rescues get the essential care they need. Join us!

Happy Birthday to our friends at Dogs on Road in Georgia!

We are so honored and delighted to be working with this amazing team. Two years ago, Dogs on the Road formed when a group of expats living in Batumi, Georgia, saw the incredible need to feed homeless dogs that were abandoned along a mountainous road that stretches from Batumi to Tbilisi. They purchased food, found volunteer drivers, and set off every week without fail to feed the starving dogs that were dumped and now living along this road. And every week, they are greeted by wagging tails and hungry bellies. While many might turn a blind eye to so much suffering, the Dogs on the Road team finds joy in making the lives of these dogs just a little bit better. They can't save everyone, but they can alleviate their suffering, even if just for one day -- to show them some kindness and love.

Of course, these trips are hard; often, dogs chase after their car, just begging to be rescued. With every trip, a few lucky dogs get picked up, there is simply no room or resources to take everyone. Some of the rescues need medical attention, others just need to be spayed and vaccinated. Sochi Dogs provides support for the medical procedures, vaccinations, and spay surgeries. We've also been incredibly lucky to welcome some of these rescues to loving homes here in New Jersey and the surrounding areas. If you've had a chance to meet a dog from Georgia, you know just how special they are.

Join us in celebrating these dogs and the amazing Dogs on the Road team! Make a special birthday donation to support their work so more dogs can be fed, rescued, and loved.
