Meet Loki -- our newest rescue!

Even though our US adoption program from the Sochi Shelter is on hold due to the CDC import ban we couldn't pass by Loki on the street.
We continue helping dogs who have nowhere else to go by providing them nutritious food, necessary medical care,
and training for as long as they are with us – and that could be a long time.

When we picked up Loki, he immediately fell asleep in the car. He knew he was finally safe.
At the shelter, he joins 39 other dogs just like him who have nowhere else to go.

Helping Katya

A tremendous thank you to everyone who helped Katya get the surgery she needed! She is a senior shelter dog, and most people wouldn’t consider treating her but thank you so much to everyone who responded. She is back at the shelter and doing great! Katya’s monthly heart medication costs $180 on top of her social senior diet and all the routine care. We are still looking for sponsors for her so if you want to help out go here and you can learn more about her: https://www.sochidogs.org/katya-s

Our Community Spay/Neuter initiative

Our Community Spay/Neuter initiative is ramping up speed! Just last week we spayed/neutered 7 dogs. Now that may not sound like a lot but it was a tremendous amount of work and time from coordinating with vets to driving and actually catching and bringing these dogs to the vet, then waiting and making sure they are ok post-surgery. It was a huge effort that was well worth it because each of these dogs has the potential to bring in hundreds of other dogs into this world that would end up homeless and suffer on the streets.

As dog lovers and rescuers, this is the best thing we can do for homeless dogs and we are so grateful to everyone who has made this work a reality!

Meet Zoysia, our newest rescue!

We’d known Zoysia as a community dog for some time now. She lived by a garbage dump and occasionally made her way to a nearby park to befriend the kids at the playground. Our team would feed her regularly, until a few weeks ago when she disappeared. We had been worried that something happened to her, so when she suddenly returned to her usual spot we knew we couldn’t leave her again. Zoysia has been checked out by our vet, spayed, and she is loving her new life at the shelter.

Our US adoption branch is closed due to a CDC import ban so please help spread the word about Sochi Dogs in the EU and Canada. If we can place dogs in loving homes we can rescue more dogs like Zoysia. Share this post!
