Flint and Stefan are Safe!

Can you imagine how Flint and Stephan felt when they were torn away from their family and left in a deserted lot?

Today they are safe, warm, and fed. But just two weeks ago, our rescue partners found these two brothers very hungry and scared, huddled together in a cardboard to keep warm. Our amazing foster mom Lena stepped up to take them in and this weekend they had a chance to hang out with Trainer Platon, who brought some toy to share with them. When Flint and Stephan are a little bigger and fully vaccinated they'll be joining our crew at the shelter.

We had to get creative!

Winter is coming! We need to have enough food at the winter time when electricity can be unreliable and it's difficult to cook for the dogs. When we talk about getting dog food, this what we mean. The delivery truck couldn't get up the hill to the shelter so we had to get creative!

The look in this mom dog's eyes said everything.

This weekend as the temperatures in Sochi are starting to drop, we found this mom dog in an empty lot trying to survive with her newborn puppies.

When we approached her, the mom welcomed us wagging her tail. It's clear that up until a few days ago this sweet girl was living in a home but as soon as she had puppies the whole family was tossed out.

The mom was lost and desperately looking for help. Her puppies were still too young to open their eyes and she needed to feed them and keep them warm.

Mom watched carefully as we bent down to scoop them up and put them in a crate. Once we put her in the car next to them, she relaxes a bit. You could tell just how happy she was to be off the street. The entire family is with our foster partner Lena, where they are warm, fed, safe and loved. Once they are ready they'll be at the shelter and ready for adoption. Helping this family off the street has not only saved them but has also prevented countless of other dogs from being born.

Hi, my name is Phil.

Hi, my name is Phil and I want to tell you my story.  I don't remember much, I just remember that something happened to me when I was walking on the street one day and then I got to the vet clinic.  I did not feel well at the time and one wonderful doctor and several other people who work there helped me. When I was better I heard someone say, "We cannot put him down, he fought so hard".  So they called Vlada asking to take me to the shelter and she and Masha came to pick me up last Saturday.

Now I live at the shelter and love it. Most of all I love Masha because she takes such great care of me. I'll follow her everywhere, up the big hill and even up stairs. I also love to play with the other dogs, I cannot run as fast as they do but that's ok we have a good time anyway.  The reason I can't play and run as fast as everyone is because I have some broken bones, check out my cool x-rays below. But I can walk and even go to the bathroom just like everyone else. If had a wheelchair I could even go for long walks!

Masha said that I am very smart, loving and understand everything. Not to brag, but she said I am very very very good boy, one of the best Sochi Dogs has ever seen! She dreams that someday someone will give me a loving home. I just need a loving family, a little yard for walks and sunbathing and cozy bed.

If you think I could join you, please fill out an adoption questionnaire and the nice folks at Sochi Dogs will give you a call!
I can't wait to meet you!
