Sochi Dogs adopters say:

Bella and Belka

I have adopted 2 Sochi dogs! The first one Belka (yellow) was so great we decided to adopt Bella (black). They are a perfect fit for our family. Everyone is so wonderful to talk with and helped us find the perfect match..twice! This site is also amazing because you feel like part of a special family that you check in on everyday.  -Kami F, New Jersey

Margo

Have to say it was a GREAT experience! We got Margo almost a year ago now.....8/7/15 to be exact. The whole process was SO SMOOTH and Anna and Tanya are BEYOND WONDERFUL!!! ALWAYS there to answer questions and make sure you pick the right dog for your family. I fell in ❤️ with Margo's pic the moment is saw her.....they described her PERFECTLY! I was searching for awhile for a German Shepard from rescue groups in NJ and PA, looked at 50-60 pups/dogs probably. Then Margo popped up in their rescue site in NJ and it was all over.

Anna was so prompt in my inquiry about Margo and always took the time to call or email. Anna and Tanya also came to our house to make sure Margo was going to a good home and they also helped me feel at ease introducing Margo into our home with our existing cats and small dog. I ALWAYS recommend this group to ANYONE looking for a puppy/dog. They are a blessing!!  - Mimi C. PA

Life is all smiles with Brut!! He's the best pup, and is loving life in Minnesota. We sure do love this sweet pup!

This is a great organization! I have no complaints! Everything was so simple from finding my pup to getting her home. They are all wonderful people too! Layla did great with the transition and she has been a member of our family from the day she came home. December 18th was the day we meet face to face! She was awesome.  Ashley S-H, NJ

It is a great experience and after a few days of getting used to their environment we have 2 terrific dogs. Mara and Libby have been fantastic and we do not know what we would do without them.Best decision we ever made.

Raya was 2 when we got her. She is so loving. She was perfectly house trained and socialized. Her tough thing was learning to walk on a leash. We took classes at Petco and that did the trick.
She still could double as a sled dog if needed, but she also knows the pace we need her to walk around town with. Initially she was protective of her food, but after a few weeks she realized food was always provided.
She loves her dog beds and any fetch toys. She loves to ride in cars and she believes she has a full time job of keeping squirrels off our property.
I hope you are lucky enough to get a Sochi Dog, they are a wonderful organization with amazing dogs.

Tala is now 13 months old. We got her August 31st and she has our heart!! She still likes to eat sticks, mulch and acorns but she is a joy!
Best decision we made this year! Wendy A, NJ

We adopted Macy (formerly Michelle). She has been great. Not without challenges like any shelter dog especially potty training and getting a bit nippy when she doesn't want to do something. But we are working with a trainer. She is very much like her description and we had our 1 month adoptaversary with her yesterday. The organization is fantastic.

Ellie (formerly Gigi) had a very good first night, loved the kids and slept so well in her crate with only minimal crying! We absolutely adore her already! Here is one of her first photos, more to come! ‪#‎jetlagged‬ ❤️ Thank you to everyone for all of the physical and emotional support!

Romy Williams The adoption process is smooth - we actually adopted our Sochi (former Gerda) before Sochi Dogs was an official organization. Like with any shelter dog, there will be an adjustment period - and, every dog is different. Keep it quiet for a few days, allow for bonding, have patience with potty training, lots of cuddles - no need to learn Russian - love is a universal language!

Maureen Halpin We got 2 year old Raya in January. We drove down to JFK to meet her with Tanya. My kids couldn't wait for the next leg to Massachusetts. She slept most of the 5 hour drive back. She only had one accident in the house, otherwise she has been 100% house trained. We took her to classes at PETCO. That helped both of us. Raya needed to learn to walk on a leash, she would rather pull like a sled dog. Raya weighs 45lbs and our Lucy is 10 lbs. They get along great. We had them meet away from as been super house and walked for an hour together before bringing her home. We brought her to our vet her first week home. Vet said she was very healthy and in great condition. She had worms which were cleared up with medication. Raya is super loving and just a magnificent addition to our family. You will love the support of the members on this site. GOOD LUCK and welcome!

Allison Roditi We adopted Macy (formerly Michelle). She has been great. Not without challenges like any shelter dog especially potty training and getting a bit nippy when she doesn't want to do something. But we are working with a trainer. She is very much like her description and we had our 1 month adoptaversary with her yesterday. The organization is fantastic.

Wendy Giever Gottsegen We had our three month adopatversary on July 1 - Klava is awesome. Have to have patience with potty training, and integrating into a household, but she was exactly as promised and is a sweetie. Her big challenge is not to bark like crazy at visitors if I'm in the room. She got very attache very quickly. Training programs are key - helps them get their brains active and bonds you to them nicely. Good luck

Heather Lynne We have had Rosey since last October, could not have asked for a better experience, originally contacted them about a different dog and after talking on the phone we were given Rosey and another pups info and we settled on Rosey, she has had an extremely smooth transition, she has had no accidents in the house, no major fears ( other than one of our two cats, though they are good now, the cats a bully) she was a little hesitant around my husband at first, but is great now. only fear we have seen in hear at all is she will not go outside at night unless someone is right with her. Oh and I took an adjustment period when it came to her eating dry food.

Ashley Schaffer-Harding This is a great organization! I have no complaints! Everything was so simple from finding my pup to getting her home. They are all wonderful people too! Layla did great with the transition and she has been a member of our family from the day she came home. December 18th was the day we meet face to face!  She was awesome. She wouldn't walk down the steps and she curled up on my lap as soon as we got to the car. We did bring a crate but she slept on my lap the whole way home.

That night we gave her to our three kids and she has been the perfect 6 member of our family.

Christine Geddes I adopted Sadie (formerly Chapa) on Dec. 18. She is super sweet, loving, and sometimes a little terror (ha - I told Anna that I wanted a dog with a mind of her own and that's certainly what I got!) :) She was exactly as her described by the site and by Anna.

She has always been pretty fearless so didn't need much transition time although of course she had some accidents before she was fully potty trained. She is very much loved....despite her mighty destruction skills!

Mary DeMarinis Great experience... easy adoption process and a wonderful, healthy dog. So happy to have our Murray as part of our family now. Good luck to you!

Deb Malcolm As puppies I think they adjust much quicker...we never used any Russian words with her. One thing we did do a little differently, we chose her new name before she came over & had them call her that while she was still there. We feel that she knew her name when we got her so that made things easier. I know it's not for everyone, but it worked for us

Wenwen Diao feeling fantastic.

Alison Storry Hi there!! Welcome to the group. My husband and I adopted Gina. We had originally planned on adopting Mika but Gina was already here and there was an urgent need to find a home as the lady decided it wasn't a good fit for her. Sooo. No preparing for us!! We have 4 chihuahua x Yorkie dogs and within a week they had all settled in together. Originally from Ontario we recently moved to Prince Edward Island and made the trip with our now 5 dogs and 4 horses. Gina is one of the family and is one of the best dogs I have ever had. She's gentle, playful, loving and I wouldn't give her up for the world. She's an amazing addition to our family and I'm so glad we leaped!!
